Need help making a resume or finding a job?

Set up a Reserve a Librarian appointment for a 30 minute session of one on one assistance. A librarian can help you learn how to use the internet to search and apply for jobs and how to use Microsoft Word to create a resume and cover letter. Call the library at 816-776-5104 or 816-776-5102 to make an appointment.


Need help catching up on job skills?

GED/ High school equivalency

PASS (Providing Academic Support for Success) meets at the library every week to provide free tutoring for the GED exam and HiSET exam (Missouri’s high school equivalency exam). Contact PASS at 816-726-6717 or email PASS here.

General job skills

Free online assistance is provided through two resources available from the library.

Provides skill-building courses and practice tests for K-12, GED preparation, computer basics, job-hunting and many more! First-time users will need to register for a free account. Find the link to register in the bottom right corner, then enter “Ray County Library” as your institution. Enter your email address and create a password for your account.
